Privacy policy

The short version
Lumenor is a learning product, not an advertising business. We collect what the product needs to teach you, we share it only with the processors that make the product work, we never sell it, we don't use it for ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites. You can delete everything, in the app, at any time.
What we collect and why
Account — your email address and sign-in identity (via Apple, Google, or email), used to keep your account yours.
Learning content— your goals, tutoring conversations (text and voice transcripts), practice answers, review history, preferences (like explanation level), and any documents you upload. This is the product: it powers your curriculum, your tutor's memory of your misconceptions, and your progress.
Usage analytics— first-party product events (like "a session started"), used to understand and improve the product.
Diagnostics — crash and error reports, used to fix bugs.
AI processing — said plainly
Lumenor's tutoring is generated by artificial intelligence. To do that, your learning content (your goal, your messages to the tutor, relevant excerpts of your uploads) is sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, to generate responses. In voice sessions, your speech audio is sent to Deepgramfor transcription and the tutor's text is sent to ElevenLabsto synthesize speech. In the live video tutor (Lumen), your microphone audio and the tutor's replies are sent to Anamto animate and voice the on-screen avatar. These providers process this data to provide the service to you; we do not permit them to use it to train their models, and we do not use your content to train models ourselves. Before your first tutoring session, Lumenor asks for your explicit consent to this processing on a dedicated screen that names each provider; you can withdraw it at any time by deleting your data in the app (Account → Delete my account and data) or by emailing us.
Who processes data for us
Clerk (sign-in) · Supabase (database hosting) · Vercel (application hosting) · Anthropic (AI tutoring) · Deepgram (speech-to-text) · ElevenLabs (text-to-speech) · Anam (live video avatar) · Inngest (background jobs) · PostHog (first-party analytics) · Sentry (crash reporting) · Apple (Sign in with Apple). Each receives only what its job requires and is bound to protect it at least as strongly as this policy does.
What we never do
No selling or renting personal data. No advertising networks. No cross-app or cross-site tracking. No building profiles for anyone but your own tutor. No collecting data from your contacts, photos, or other apps.
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account exists. Delete your account any time in the app (Account → Delete my account and data): your profile, skies, sessions, uploads, and reviews are permanently deleted immediately, and your sign-in identity is removed. Residual copies in encrypted backups age out within 30 days. You can also email privacy@getlumenor.com to exercise access, correction, portability, or deletion rights, or to withdraw consent.
Young people
Lumenor is for learners 13 and up. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13; if you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it. For teens, content safeguards are on by default and we apply the same no-ads, no-tracking, no-sale rules as for everyone.
Changes
